MariaDB Database Management

Hawkeye Database

The tuning file for the Hawkeye Database is /etc/mysql/mariadb.conf.d/99_tuning.cnf. This file contains the tuning parameters for the server as well as defining where the MySQL server stores its data files.

For larger installations, you should consult Keysight Support to determine if any of the values here should be modified to accommodate the requirements of the specific installation.

Example of configuration for a server with 16G RAM:

#########################################################################

# mariaDB System optimizations can be made utilizing this file

# Edit this file using your favorite text editor.

# vi /etc/mysql/mariadb.conf.d/99_tuning.cnf

#

# Uncomment the settings you wish to set and update the associated values.

#

#########################################################################

[mariadb]

########################################################################

# innodb_buffer_pool_size=1G This should be set to be 25% of the

# total system RAM. Example for a system with 16GB of RAM you should

# allocate 4G to the innodb_buffer_pool_size

########################################################################

innodb_buffer_pool_size=4G

#######################################################################

# Default max-connections=151 This defines the maximum number of

# concurrent connections opened against MySQL. In the case of numerous

# endpoints/tests per hour (above 1000 tests per hour), Keysight recommends

# to increase this number to 1000

#######################################################################

max-connections=1000

MariaDB runs as a service:

  • Do not attempt to terminate mariadb service as this can corrupt the database.

  • Use hawkeyeServices command to restart MariaDB service.
