Hawkeye Services

The Hawkeye system is based on a Debian (version of Linux) system. The Hawkeye server consists of following services:

  • OutlierDetection
  • DataCollection
  • VE1Sstats
  • RealServices
  • ReportScheduler
  • PhantomJS
  • ServerDaemon
  • TestEngine
  • RegistrationServer
  • hawkeye-fpm
  • nodedv3
  • httpd
  • mariadb

The Hawkeye server has these services turned on. You must restart these services before you make any of the following changes:

• Change a Service configuration file (Hawkeye, Nginx, and MariaDB database)

This is required for the changes to take effect. You must ssh to the Hawkeye server to restart these services from the command line.

# hawkeyeServices restart

The Hawkeye server is constantly updating the MariaDB database and often stores information in RAM because recording a single test result will involve updating several tables in MariaDB database.

To shut down the Hawkeye Server VM in the preferred controlled way, complete the following steps:

  1. ssh to Hawkeye server so command line can be used.
  2. Execute the follow at the command line for immediate shutdown:

# shutdown -h now

If a configuration file was changed, use the following commands to restart the Hawkeye server. :

# hawkeyeServices restart

Hawkeye Service

The Hawkeye service configuration file is located at /opt/hawkeye/conf/configuration.txt. We do not recommend you to change any values in this file without contacting Keysight Customer support. You can change some settings from Administration > Preferences. Passwords are defined in a file but refer to Change Passwords to change passwords safely.

Nginx Web Server Service

You should not change the Nginx (web server) service configuration file without consulting with Ixia Customer support. The configuration files are located in the /etc/nginx/ and /etc/nginx/snippets/ directories. We recommend you modify the file after contacting Keysight Customer support.

MariaDB Service

The MariaDB service configuration file is located at /etc/mysql/mariadb.conf.d/99_tuning.cnf. Refer to Customize MariaDB configuration for instructions to change the amount of RAM allocated to the MySQL service. You must contact Keysight customer support before modifying this file. Do not modify that database manually.
