Truncated Reports

Running reports over too large selections can create memory allocation issues - therefore there is auto limitation into the report size that can result into displaying truncating report warning:

Report Takes too Long to Create

Reports created for large time periods and test data can take some time to process. You can configure the system processing time for processing a report. This is configured in Preferences > Main > Maximum report generation Time.

If the Hawkeye server exceeds the max allowed time to create a report the following error message will be generated.

Create a Report

To create a report, select the Reports located on the menu bar to open the saved reports page, which lists previously saved reports, and select the + Create button.

The report will be created according to the filters defined:

  • Time range in time selection. The available time intervals are:
    • Last hour/day/week;
    • Today;
    • Full range;
    • Range: when range is selected the date picker becomes active.

  • Filter criteria in the bottom section

After the report criteria has been defined, you will need to select the report type and format as well as name your report before you can save it. This is also where you can limit the metrics that are included in the report as well as set to have the finished report sent to you via email by checking the Email box and providing your email address.

To create the report one time you will select the save button and the report will be created in the background and a notification will be provided when completed.

To schedule this report to recur over time you will select the Schedule button in the center of the screen and you will be presented with the Frequency (in hours) as well as the Period fields. Selecting the period field will present you with Calendars to select your start and end dates and adjust your Start and End times.

After all configuration has been made you can select Schedule at the bottom right corner of the screen to schedule your report to run.

View a report

Reports are created in the background in Hawkeye, thus allowing you to set up your report and then get back to work. All while we work in the background to build the report. If you have run a once shot report when it is ready you will get a notification in the top bar of the Hawkeye screen. Select the bell and selecting the new notification will include a link to direct download the report.

If you report runs on a schedule you will not get notifications at the top of the screen instead you will select Reports in the menu and on the Saved page you will see all the completed reports listed. From here you can select the eye to view or the download button to start a download of the report. You can also view previously run one shot reports and download them from here as well.

Removing Scheduled Reports

If you want to stop a scheduled test before the schedule period is over you can do so by selecting Reports in the menu and then select the Scheduled button. From this screen you can either pause or delete a schedule by selecting the corresponding button on the left side of the row for a scheduled report.
